John Thomas Reynolds died 24 June 1904 in Buxton, Wilson, Kansas at the age of 66. He was kicked in the stomach by a mule.
His obituary reads: (Fredonia Faily Herald--June 25, 1904)
J.T. Reynolds who lives near Lafontaine aged about 60 years, was kicked in the stomach yesterday morning about 10:30 by one of his mules. The mules kicked him with both feet, and he was just close enough to receive the full force of the blow. A doctor was summoned, but though there was nothing seriously wrong and left him. He died about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. We understand the mule that killer Mr. Reynolds was about 14 years old, and had never before offered to kick, and of course such and accident was very much unexpected. The deceased leaves several children who live in the vicinity of Lafontaine. The funeral will take place tomorrow are that place.
They are both buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Buxton, Wilson, Kansas
